CREATIVE MOVEMENT IS BACK! Starting October 2025

Elementary grade dancers will meet on Tuesdays at 4:30 pm. Kids Tap on Fridays at 4 pm. Adult dance is Monday at 5:30 pm and Thursday at 11 am. Adult Tap meets on Thursday at 1 pm. Questions?Contact Ferolyn at 320 491 9578 or at ferolynangell@gmail.com.

DANCE CLASSES ARE BACK IN 2025

Ferolyn will not traveling much for the next few months and is available to teach. Please contact her directly at 320 491 9578 or ferolynangell@gmail.com if you have someone who wants to dance. The schedule is currently being planned so let Ferolyn know what days and times work. As always, children's classes will explore creativity and technique in every class and give a performance at the end of the session. (10 weeks) Classes for Elementary and HS students will be after school at 4 pm or 5 pm. Kids Tap class is Friday at 4 pm. Adult classes continue on Mondays at 5 pm and Thursdays at 11 am. These classes are fun and friendly with good music from many genres. They emphasize stretching with some technical skills and combinations. Adult Tap II meets on Tuesday at 10 am. If you are new to Tap dance, Ferolyn will meet one-on-one with you until you are ready to join Tap II. If you are not sure and just want to see what it's all about, the first adult class is FREE!

August 9, 2022 Today I am starting a blog to share notes about the project I am calling What Becomes Treasure. I leave in 5 days for Germany. I am flying to Berlin via Amsterdam and will take a train to my mother's home town of Schwedt (now a large city) which is NE of Berlin on the border with Poland, along the river Ode. I have wanted to return there ever since I spent three days there in 2018. My first visit was in 2015 when I traveled to a number of places in Europe, wanting to stand on the coordinates of the places my mother wrote about. I thought that if I went myseslf to Warsaw I could learn what had actually happened to her sister after her last postcard in 1942. I needed to visit Theresienstadt in Czechoslovakia where my grandmother was a prisoner. It was the trip that allowed me to tackle the Holocaust and it's affect on me. The end result was the dance film "In the Shadow". The visit in 2018 was initiated by the wonderful women from the Stadt Museum of Schwedt. Frau Groden asked if our family would like to have a stone laid in memory of my Aunt Maria. There are many such bronze cobblestones throughout Europe (according to my son Yusef who has traveled for his work in alternative energy). They are called Stolperstein - look it up. This was eventually scheduled in November of 2018 to coincide with the memorial activities that take place in Schwedt (and in other parts of Germany) on the anniversary of Kristallnacht - this one being 80 years after that terrible night in 1938. As part of my visit, I offered to teach a dance workshop and share my film. The visit was so much beyond anything I could have imagined. (to be continued)

While we wait to see what happens with the Covid virus and vaccines lets dance as much as possible. I will be offering dance sessions via Zoom starting February 1^st.  

Each month I will do three Zoom sessions for each class and make a short youtube post of choreography on week four. I’ll set up ongoing Zooms and send the links to your email. If you would like to join please send your email address. Hopefully we’ll only have to do it this way for a couple of months!
